On Thursday, November 5, 2020, 30 students from underprivileged families from villages around SOL project area has received the scholarships for the 2020/2021 period. The awarding of a scholarship of IDR 5,000,000 (five million rupiah) was symbolically handed over by the Deputy Regent of North Tapanuli Sarlandy Hutabarat, SH together with the management representative of Sarulla Operations Ltd (“SOL”), Melva Samosir, as CSR & External Relations Manager.
The program, which has been carried out since August 2018 with a total of 42 scholarship recipients up to 2020, is a part of SOL CSR activities focus in the education pillar to help outstanding students from 11 villages located around the SOL project.
One of the scholarship recipients is Jeni Prety Sry Rejeki Sitompul, a 6th semester student at Prima Indonesia University, Medan majoring in English Education from Desa Sibaganding, Kec. Pahae Julu expressed her gratitude to SOL, "I am grateful to SOL for helping me to realize my dream.", She said in an emotional voice.
Sarlandy Hutabarat, SH expressed his appreciation to SOL for the Company’s concern and support in the form of educational assistance that is still provided during COVID-19 pandemic situation.
