Prevent and Overcome Stunting from an Early Age
Sarulla Operations Ltd (“SOL”) is consistent in taking a role in preventing and overcoming stunting from an early age. Together with the Health Office of North Tapanuli Regency, SOL has carried out a follow-up to prevent stunting which has been started since September 3, 2021, especially in the villages around the project. This follow-up effort was conducted by holding outreach on stunting prevention from an early age which was given to 250 people consisting of mothers under five, pregnant women, and posyandu cadres in 19 villages affected by SOL in Pahae Jae and Pahae Julu sub-districts.
This follow-up effort was carried out by conducting socialization on stunting prevention from an early age which was given to 285 people consisting of 62 mothers of toddlers who have nutritional problems, 69 pregnant women, 110 posyandu cadres, 27 midwives, and 17 village heads in 19 villages in Pahae District. Jae (Silangkitang, Sigurung-Gurung, Pardamean Nainggolan, Pardomuan Nainggolan, Siopat Bahal, Sitolu Ompu, Parsaoran Nainggolan, Tordolok Nauli, Parsaoran Samosir) and Pahae Julu Subdistricts (Simataniari, Lumban Jaean, Sibaganding, Onan Hasang, Promise Natogu, Hutabarat, Simanampang, Sitolu Ama, Lontung Dolok).
The activity was conducted on March 23-31 2022 in collaboration with the nutrition sector at the Onan Hasang Health Center and the Chairperson of the PKK (Family Welfare Development), Pahae Julu District. The socialization conveyed the importance of fulfilling maternal nutrition from the planning period of pregnancy, up to the golden age of 5 years. This is expected to be able to realize healthy and intelligent children who must be prepared from an early age, because they are the next generation of the nation, especially "Siboan Goar" for families and for North Tapanuli Regency.
